That they would like to sell me for no more than $200 - (or lend to me for a few live gigs)

I'm looking at a few on Ebay but I was wondering if anyone had one they maybe wanted to offload.

I'm looking to buy a Roland SP-404 but they are a bit expensive...

Ahh man, that's a huge beast. I've got a laptop but it's a bit slow, I'll have to see how it runs with a RAM upgrade first. Thanks

I ran with a akai s2000 and s3000 for a few months before I got so pissed off with the antiquated tech and the pc software rebooting my machine every 5 minutes that I ended up with the SP-404. Love it. SP-808s come up occaisionally on trademe for cheap, the 404 I got from ebay.

I could easily lend you the 404 for some live gigs, as long as they didn't conflict with crash-scan ones (I don't use it in nullity), and you had your own compact flash card for it.

Wow, thanks for the offer, I've decided I'll probably sell some of my stuff and buy my own one, makes things a bit easiar, Is the unit quite stable and is it actually polyphonic eg can you play two notes at the same time?

thanks

unit is stable as, never had any issues with it. its not the most intuitive to load/manipulate and assign samples, but the manual is okay. I just tend to do most of my manipulation in the computer, then load the samples into the 404 for triggering.

Pretty sure its at least 12 voice polyphonic, as I can hit all the pads at once and trigger all the samples.
